The Setting: A Kingdom Plunged into Abyssal Chaos

The medieval Kingdom of Aethelgard has fallen into an inferno under the Crimson Scourge. This plague is no ordinary disease; it is an Abyssal Genesis, an unholy birth of corruption that efficiently twists and consumes life. Rumored to originate from some ancient, malevolent entity deep beneath the earth, the virus transforms its victims into bloodthirsty monsters, their very essence tainted by an inhuman chaos stemming from the abyss.

The King, swayed by the fanatical doctrines of the Grand Archbishop of the Purist Faith, believes the plague is divine punishment. The Royal Army is ordered to assist the Church in a brutal "Purification"—the indiscriminate slaughter of commoners. Amidst this escalating brutality, the survivors rise, forming the Dispossessed Army (rebels). However, years of war have allowed the Abyssal Genesis virus to evolve, parasitizing and mutating the majority of the rebels into monstrous, inhuman figures—direct creations of the abyss.

The Protagonist: The Coward's Abyssal Talent

The Protagonist was an unremarkable Royal Army soldier, inherently cowardly, weak-willed, and consumed by fear on the battlefield.

During a horrific clash with the mutated rebels, the terrifying forms of the enemy shattered his nerve. He chose the path of shameful desertion, abandoning his comrades and his honor as a soldier.

While on the run, he discovers he, too, is infected. Yet, unlike others, the Abyssal Genesis virus has forged a peculiar "symbiosis" within him: he gains a near-indestructible Defensive Capacity and the potent kinetic force to Repel or Crush any aggressor. He is encased in a formidable shell of abyssal power, theoretically impervious to harm.

However, this power is inherently limited by his cowardly nature—it can only be passively triggered for defense and counter-attack; he cannot initiate any offensive action. The protagonist wields an unbreakable abyssal shield, but lacks the courage to proactively strike. His unique talent becomes another testament to his timidity, an ironic "gift" from the abyss.

Fires of Purification: No Escape from the Abyss

The Purist Faith has deployed its most zealous and elite force, the Order of the Purification Knights, with ruthless determination to cleanse the kingdom of all rebels and infected. They vow to erase every trace of this Abyssal Genesis from Aethelgard.

For the Protagonist, despite possessing the ultimate defense, his timid soul renders him helpless to save himself. The mark of the Abyssal infection on him ensures he is the Knights' next quarry. Under the unfolding prelude of Abyssal Genesis, where will his desperate flight lead him?
